Drummer/percussionist Troy Pierce was classically trained at the North Carolina School of the Arts. He later studied jazz at the Manhattan School of Music, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Empire State College.

As a studio musician, he has contributed his drumming to over 30 albums and continues to record and perform with a wide array of musicians throughout the southeast. As an accompanist, he has served on the faculties of Juilliard, New York University, N.C. School of the Arts, Alvin Ailey Dance Theater, and Barnard College. He currently accompanies Rhythmic Flow Yoga workshops at the Wilmington Yoga Center and at yoga centers across the country. As an educator, Troy has conducted master classes and clinics in elementary schools, high schools, colleges, and universities. Since 2001, he has taught privately out of his studio in Wilmington, N.C.
